Shale, arenite, siltstone, limestone, and chert; thrust-bounded Devonian to Ordovician deep-marine-basin deposits; central Idaho

Devonian and Silurian thrusted, deep-water argillite beds of central Idaho.
StateIdaho
NameShale, arenite, siltstone, limestone, and chert; thrust-bounded Devonian to Ordovician deep-marine-basin deposits; central Idaho
Geologic ageDevonian and Silurian
Original map labelDS; DSc
Commentsnew unit DOc = DSc + SOc. Area shown as DSc on Idaho state map corresponds with area symbolized symbolized DSO on map of eastern part of Hailey quad (Link and others, 1995). This unit includes Devonian, Silurian and Ordovician argillaceous rocks, of the Milligen, Trail Creek, and Phi Kappa Fms. Thrust faults bound this assemblage.
Primary rock typeshale
Secondary rock typearenite
Other rock typessiltstone; limestone; chert
