NameShale, conglomerate, sandstone, siltstone, limestone, and chert; Mississippian turbidite flysch from a western source; central Idaho
Geologic ageMississippian
Original map labelMc
CommentsArgillitic shale, quartz arenite, and conglomerate of the Copper Basin Group are interpreted as turbiditic flysch, deposited in a submarine fan complex, with a western source in the Antler orogenic belt. Incidental limestones may represent west-thinning tongues, correlative with the White Knob Limestone Gp.
Primary rock typeshale
Secondary rock typeconglomerate
Other rock typessandstone; siltstone; limestone; chert
Lithologic constituents
