Middle Pleistocene silicic volcanic unit 1 in eastern Idaho.
StateIdaho
NameRhyolite flows; Middle Pleistocene felsic volcanics of subunit 1f; eastern Snake River Plain and Yellowstone Plateau
Geologic ageMiddle Pleistocene
Original map labelQpm1f
CommentsQpm1f corresponds to the Big Bend Ridge Rhyolite, above Huckleberry Ridge Tuff (2.0) and below Mesa Falls Tuff (1.2 Ma). Source vents probably are buried in the Island Park basin (ID123). Four flows of the Big Bend Ridge Rhyolite are post-collapse rhyolite flows of the first eruptive cycle of the Yellowstone Plateau volcanic field (ID123).
