Metasedimentary and meta-igneous rocks; Triassic to Mississippian greenschist-facies dismembered ophiolite, western Idaho, Blue Mountains island-arc complex

Jurassic marine wacke, volcanic, or carbonate metasediments of western Idaho.
StateIdaho
NameMetasedimentary and meta-igneous rocks; Triassic to Mississippian greenschist-facies dismembered ophiolite, western Idaho, Blue Mountains island-arc complex
Geologic ageTriassic to Mississippian
Original map labelJwm
CommentsTRMm -- Phyllite and chert of the Baker terrane (Mesozoic and Paleozoic) of ID038. The structurally dismembered Baker terrane is interpreted as an oceanic ophiolite assemblage, which is faulted eastward, over the Jurassic Izee terrane. On ID108, TRMm includes Permian Burnt River Schist, Permian Elkhorn Ridge Argillite, and Paleozoic rocks, undivided. Triassic radiolarians, Permian fusulinids, and Permian to Carboniferous conodonts, fusulinids, and megafossils indicate a Triassic to Mississippian age range.
Primary rock typemeta-argillite
Secondary rock typechert
Other rock typesmarble; greenstone; greenschist; quartzite
