CommentsThe Middle Valmeyeran Series includes these formations in various parts of the state: Salem Limestone, Sonora Sandstone, Warsaw Limestone, Ullin Limestone, Fort Payne Formation, Borden Siltstone-Springville Shale. Taken as a group, based on the stratigraphic column on the 1967 paper map this part of the series consists of about 60% limestone and 40% siltstone-shale. The limestone is cherty in places.
