| Comments | In stratigraphic order, oldest to youngest: the Reed Dolomite is 1,560 feet thick; the Deep Spring Formation is 1,500 feet thick; the Campito Formation is 2,500(?) feet thick; the Poleta Formation is 1000+ feet thick; the Harkless Formation (including Saline Valley Formation at the top) is 3,500 feet thick; the Mule Spring Limestone is 400-500 feet thick (main part of Esmeralda County, Albers and Stewart, 1972). Often lithologically similar, these formations can be separated by their respective fossils. |
