StateNevada
NameArgillaceous limestone, chert, and shale
Geologic ageDevonian

CommentsCoats, 1987, includes calcareous siltstone in Elko County. In Eureka County, the few occurances include sandy and calcareous shale and sandstone. In general, these Devonian rocks are considered transitional because they contain more limestone and less chert than rocks of the siliceous western assemblage (Roberts and others, 1967).
