CommentsThe Garden Valley Formation ranges from 2,700 to 5,000 feet thick (Roberts and others, 1967). Roberts and others, 1967 also reports that, in the Diamond Mountains, the Carbon Ridge Formation is 1,500 to 1,750 feet thick; Hose and Blake, 1976, report that it ranges from 1,400 to 2,300 feet thick. The Strathearn Formation ranges from 1,200 to 2,000 feet thick; the Buckskin Mountain Formation is about 1,200 feet thick; the Beacon Flat Formation is about 2,800 feet thick (Coats, 1987).
