CommentsDel Carmen is gray limestone aphanitic to fine grained, massive, chert nodules, weathers shades of dk brown, yell-brown, and pinkish-brown; rudistids and milliolids common. Forms sheer escarpments. Thickness 445 ft. 350 ft in northern Sierra del Carmen, 475 ft at mouth of Santa Elena Canyon, 300-350 ft in Shafter area.
