From expanded explanation (ref. VA002): Conglomerate, greenstone clasts. Rounded to subrounded pebbles, cobbles, and boulders of predominantly metavolcanic Catoctin greenstone in a matrix of fine- to coarse-grained, silicified, ferruginous-cemented, greenish-gray to dark-green, clayey sandstone.
