Location and accuracy Located in pass between small, unnamed hills south of the Noatak River in T. 29 N., R. 8 E., Kateel River Meridian. Shown as locality 67 in Mayfield and Grybeck (1978) and is accurate to within 2000 ft. (600 m).

Geologic setting

Geologic description

Chalcopyrite, malachite and azurite coat fracture surfaces in quartzite. Nearby occurrences include a small gossan on limestone-phyllite outcrop that contains 1800 ppm Cu and 5 ppm Ag, and a small, malachite-bearing quartz vein that cuts marble.
