Location and accuracy The Sheridan Creek placer mine is 0.8 mile upstream from the mouth of the creek. The map site is in section 14, T. 2 N., R. 12 W., of the Kateel River Meridian. Cobb, 1972 (MF-389), location 28.

Geologic setting

Geologic description

Bedrock at the Sheridan Creek placer mine is mainly andesite tuffs and flows, and some basic intrusives. The gold is on bedrock and is accompanied by pyrite and magnetite in the concentrates. It assayed $19.20 an ounce (Harrington, 1919).
