|Location and accuracy||Deposits on a small tributary of Skimo Creek and on Tiglukpuk Creek. Within one mile.|
Geologic descriptionPhosphate deposits restricted to black chert and shale unit of the Alapha Limestone of late Mississippian age. Phosphate rock and phosphorites occur within a section of interbedded oolitic to pisolitic limestone, chert, and shale. Marked variation in lithologic character of phosphate content. Fluorite was a constituent of all samples studied.

|Mineral deposit model||Bedded phosphorite (Cox and Singer, 1986; model 34c).|
|Mineral deposit model number||34c|
|Age of mineralization||Mississippian.|
|Workings or exploration||A 36 ft thick sequence averages 8 percent P2O5; a 43 in. thick sequence averages 21 percent P2O5; and 6 beds, none more than 5.5 in. thick, contain 30 percent P2O5. Samples analyzed for vanadium contained 0.04 percent - 0.10 percent V2O5. Samples collected by USBM contained up to 23 percent phosphate with 1035 ppm V.|
