Geologic setting

Geologic description

Rhyolite dikes <100 feet (30.5 m) thick intrude argillite in a sequence of phyllite siltstone and quartzite. Small gossans occur in argillite; pyrite locally occurs in quartzite (Barker, 1981, p. 81).
Geologic map unit (-142.302700646399, 67.4797256801268)
Mineral deposit model Polymetallic lodes (veins?) associated with rhyolite dikes
Alteration of deposit Minor argillic alteration and silicification

Production and reserves

Workings or exploration Sedimentary rocks contain up to 26 ppm Ag, 2200 ppm Zn, 2% Cu and 1.5% Pb (Brosge and Reiser 1968). Small gossan yields 1100 ppm Cu, 11.2% Pb, 6700 ppm Zn, 115 ppm Ag, 1.8 ppm U and 7.5 ppm Th. Pyritic quartzite contains 68 ppm Cu, 610 ppm Pb, 390 ppm Zn. Soils contain <83 ppm Cu, 420 ppm Pb, 270 ppm Zn (Barker, 1981, p. 81-8).
Indication of production None
