Location and accuracy | SW1/4SW1/4 sec.9, T. 3 N., R. 2 E., of the Fairbanks Meridian. The coordinates given are for the southeast corner of a soil grid; it is about a mile north of the junction of Wolf and Goose Creeks. The property is accessed by the Fairbanks-Circle trail, a seasonal four-wheel-drive road. An ATV trail turns off the Fairbanks-Circle trail at about mile 1.1 and continues to the NW for about 2 miles to the grid. |
Geologic descriptionAltered, carbonaceous schist in old prospect pits assayed 60 ppb gold. The highest assay of approximately 520 soil samples was 725 ppb gold. Six reverse circulation holes were drilled in the area and returned assays of 60 feet of 154 ppb gold and 10 feet of 140 ppb gold (D. McCoy, written communication, 1999). | |
