Location and accuracy | This occurrence at an elevation of 6,200 feet approximately 1 mile east-northeast of the toe of McCallum Glacier. It is near the southwest corner of section 1, T. 19 S., R. 11 E., Fairbanks Meridian. The occurrence is described by Hanson (1963, p. 73), and it corresponds to locality 28 in Cobb (1979 [OFR 79-238]) and to locality S117 in table 2 of Nokelberg and others (1991). |
Geologic descriptionThis occurrence consists of chalcopyrite, galena, and pyrite disseminated in silicified granodiorite (Hanson, 1963). The mineralization probably is associated with the granodiorite that intrudes the Slana Spur Formation of Pennsylvanian age (Nokleberg and others, 1991). | |
