Location and accuracy This site is on the northwest shore of Road Island in Ivanof Bay. It is referred to as SBRGX-51 in Wilson and others (1988, locality 25). The location is accurate to within 1,200 feet.

Geologic setting

Geologic description

This occurrence is in within volcanic rocks of the Eocene to Oligocene Meshik Formation (Wilson and others, 1995). A sample from a lahar deposit collected at this site by the U.S. Geological Survey is reported to be anomalous in copper and gold (Wilson and others, 1988).

Workings or exploration Rock sample 83AWs84, collected by the U.S. Geological Survey in the mid-1980s, was reported to be anomalous in gold and copper (Wilson and others, 1988).
