Location and accuracy | This occurrence is at an elevation of about 1,000 feet, about 0.9 mile north-northwest of upper Sikady Lake. The occurrence is 0.2 mile south-southwest of the center of sec. 2, T. 48 S., R. 68 E. It is location 69 of Cobb (1972, 1978) and MAS no. 0021140202 (U.S. Bureau of Land Management, 2002). The location probably is accurate within 0.2 mile. |
Geologic descriptionThis occurrence is in an undifferentiated unit of Paleozoic and Mesozoic, low-grade metamorphic rocks (Lathram and others, 1965). The occurrence was first reported by Race and Rose (1967). It consists of fine-grained schist that contains moderate amounts of disseminated pyrrhotite. Several zones within the schist contain an estimated 0.1 percent copper as chalcopyrite. | |
