Location and accuracy | This occurrence is at an elevation of about 4900 feet on a ridge about 4 miles north of Walker Lake. It is in S1/2 of sec. 32, T. 22 N., R. 20 E., of the Kateel River Meridian. Location is accurate to within 500 ft. The side corresponds to locality 49 of Grybeck and Nelson (1981). |
Geologic descriptionThis occurrence consists of a zone about 10 feet thick in Paleozoic calc-silicate rocks (Grybeck and Nelson, 1981). The zone consists of white quartz interlayered with limonitic gossan. The quartz contains disseminated chalcopyrite and tourmaline. | |
