Location and accuracy | This occurrence is at an elevation of about 3200 feet on a ridge 2.5 miles west of Walker Lake. It is in the E1/2 of sec. 7, T. 20 N., R. 20 E., of the Kateel River Meridian. Location is accurate to within 2000 ft. The site corresponds to locality 70 of Grybeck and Nelson (1981). |
Geologic descriptionThis occurrence consists of rubble in an area at least 600 square feet in diameter. About 25-50% of the rubble consists of large, irregular masses of botryoidal goethite that replaces or fills open spaces in marble (Grybeck and Nelson, 1981). | |
