MRDS describes metallic and nonmetallic mineral resources throughout the world. Included are deposit name, location, commodity, deposit description, geologic characteristics, production, reserves, resources, and references.

Deposits, prospects, and permissive tracts for porphyry and sediment-hosted copper resources worldwide, with estimates of undiscovered copper resources.

For each area in which this type of deposit may occur, we provide the main characteristics of the area, classification of known deposits by subtype, and a rank indicating the potential of the area to contain undiscovered resources.

Locations and characteristics of important mineral and energy resource facilities, with some permissive tracts and resource assessment information. Data are provided in Esri file geodatabase and shapefile formats.

Statistics for over 88 nonfuel mineral commodities including items such as production, imports, exports, price, stocks, apparent consumption, and/or net import reliance for nonfuel mineral commodities. Data are provided in CSV format.
