Info
Geologic map of the Patagonia Mountains, Santa Cruz County, Arizona

Spatial databases for map units, strike and dip, geologic contacts, faults, dikes, in addition to a topographic base map are provided in an Esri file geodatabase. The geologic mapsheet is also provided as a PDF.

Info
Geochemistry of soils from the San Rafael Valley, Santa Cruz County, Arizona

Surficial geochemical methods used to identify subsurface mineral deposits covered by alluvium. Can a geophysical anomaly, interpreted as a buried granite pluton, be discerned from the geochemical characteristics of overlying Quaternary sediments?

Info
Geochemical and mineralogical study of the Red Mountain porphyry copper-molybdenum deposit and vicinity, Santa Cruz County, Arizona

Extensive core drilling has delineated a large, deep seated, structurally intact deposit here. Distribution of elements and minerals determined for this study provide a zoning model applicable to similar deposits and useful for resource exploration.

Info
Audiomagnetotelluric survey to characterize the Sunnyside porphyry copper system in the Patagonia Mountains, Arizona

Audiomagnetotelluric (AMT) sounding data collected in 2008 in this area in support of assessments of concealed mineral resources.

Info
Argon data for Santa Cruz Basin

40Ar/39Ar data from samples in this area to provide age constraints on units in the relevant geologic mapping. Data are provided in CSV and shapefile formats.

Info
Magnetotelluric survey to characterize the Sunnyside Porphyry Copper System in the Patagonia Mountains, Arizona

Magnetotelluric sounding data collected in 2008 in this area to help USGS understand concealed mineral resources.

Info
Data to accompany U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report 2019-5077: Geochemical and mineralogical study of the Red Mountain porphyry copper-molybdenum deposit and vicinity, Santa Cruz County, Arizona

Analyses of core and surface samples collected in and around this mineral deposit. Samples were collected and analyzed between 1980 and 2000. Data are provided in Microsoft Excel and CSV formats.

Info
Phytostabilization in Polymetallic Tailings using Compost and Endophyte Additions

Hazard mitigation field experiment using the growth of native plants to stabilize mining wastes and potentially toxic elements in them (phytostabilization). Lab analysis of the materials for geochemistry and other pertinent characteristics of the soil and plants. Data are provided in CSV format.
