Magnetotelluric (MT) sounding data collected in 2003 along a north-south profile in this area to learn whether major mining districts in the Northern Nevada Gold Province are underlain by rocks of the Archean Wyoming craton, which are known to contain orogenic gold deposits, or by accreted rocks of the Paleoproterozoic Mojave province.

Samples of vein-type magmatic-steam alunite were collected from five mines and prospects in this area. Analysis by the 40Ar/39Ar method was conducted to constrain the timing and duration of magmatic activity affecting underlying rocks. In addition, a sample of a highly altered rhyolitic quartz porphyry dike was analyzed to determine a radiometric U/Pb date and quantify trace element concentrations. Data are provided in CSV format.
