“The Castle Dome open-pit mine was developed in 1942 and 1942 by the Castle Dome Copper Co., Inc., as a war project. Slightly more than 177,000,000 pounds of copper from about 14,000,000 tons of ore was produced from June 1943 to the end of 1946.”
