Identified resources Historical production of gold, silver, and tungsten.
Production Between 1890 and 1951, the White Oaks mining district produced about 152,373 oz Au (Grainger, 1974) and 119,933 lbs of WO3 concentrate with an average grade of 56.18% (Griswold, 1959). The Old Abe mine produced 45,745 oz Au, as well as Ag and W. The South and North Homestake mines produced a combined 50,000 oz Au (Grainger, 1974).
Status Past mining. Recent exploration sampling.

Geochemical evidence Huebnerite is the W mineral in the district. Gold does not occur with W. Portions of the Old Abe mine dumps sampled in 1922 contained 0.38% WO3.

Geologic mapping and modeling needs The existing geologic map of White Oaks South by Rawling and Koning (2011) does not include detailed mapping of the plutonic rocks or alteration mapping. White Oaks North has not been mapped. Additional detailed mapping is needed.
