| Comments | Sandstone and limestone. Mostly sandstone, very fine grained, very thin to thick bedded, in part massive, brownish yellow. Limestone, five units not seperately mapped ( from top--Lamar, McCombs, Rader, Pinery, and Hegler), fine grained, mostly thin bedded, dark gray to black, thickness of individual units 10-40 ft. in basin, 50-100 ft. near Capitan reef; fossisls scarce except near Capitan reef. Grades into Capitan Formation. Thickness 670 ft. near Capitan reef, 1,000+ ft. in basin |
