Comments | Castile marine evaporite, gypsum, anhydrite with calcite and limestone. breccia zone at top shows massive recrystallization. Banded, 5-30 alternating laminae of brown calcite and white gypsum per inch. highly contorted. limest. units scarce. At base up to 100 ft of dolomitic ls. thickness 1,500-2,000 ft. Salado mainly rock salt with massive anhydrite, redbeds, shaly sandstone and lenses of polyhalite. Local concentra. of other salts. northern Loving Co., TX in Permian basin. 1,400 ft thick |
