Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = Mertie (1919) described a sample said to be from this occurrence as containing galena, magnetite, limonite, and pyrite. The galena was supposedly argentiferous. The gossanous character of the occurrence was reported by Anderson (1947), but its location and nature have not been confirmed. Bedrock of the area is a metasedimentary schist and marble sequence of Lower Paleozoic age (Till and others, 1986).
  • Age = Unknown
