Deposit | THE VEIN IS WITHIN A PROMINENT NORTH TRENDING FAULT ZONE ON THE FRINGE OF A COPPER-GOLD ZONE. THE VEIN HAS BEEN TRACED FOR THOUSAND OF FEET ALONG STRIKE. CONSISTS OF 10 CLAIMS DEVELOPED BY A 250 FT-VERTICAL SHAFT PLUS OTHER WORKINGS. MAIN ORE ZONE UNDERGROUND IS 40 FT WIDE AND WAS DEVELOPED FOR 150 FT ALONG STRIKE ON TWO LEVELS IN 1912. EXACT DATE OF DISCOVERY IS NOT KNOWN, BUT THE NEVADA MINING CO. WAS ORGANIZED IN 1898 AND FIRST RECORDED PRODUCTION WAS IN 1902 WHEN 75 TONS OF 38 1/2 OZ. AG WAS SHIPPED. MOST PRODUCTION WAS IN THE 1920'S. LATER SHIPMENTS IN THE 1940'S WERE MAINLY FROM DUMPS. WORKINGS AS OF 1965, CONSISTED OF OVER 3500 FT. OF DRIFTS AND CROSSCUTS CONNECTED BY 200 FT. OF RAISES AND WINZES, AS WELL AS A 250-FT VERTICAL SHAFT AND A 215-FT INCLINED SHAFT ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT |
