Deposit | THE VEIN IS WITHIN A PROMINENT NORTH-TRENDING FAULT ZONE ON THE FRINGE OF A COPPER-GOLD ZONE. THE VEIN RANGES IN THICKNESS FROM A FEW INCHES TO 3 FT AND HAS BEEN TRACED FOR THOUSANDS OF FEET ONLY STRIKE. FIRST CLAIM WAS RECORDED IN 1869. THE VEIN WAS A LARGE PRODUCER INTHE EARLY 1870'S, BUT LAY IDLE AFTER 1885. THE 2 TUNNELS AND 160 FT. SHAFT WERE ABANDONED AND CAVED IN 1912. IT WAS PART OF THE FRENCH CO. HOLDINGS FROM EARLY 1880'S TO POST-1912. PROPERTY WAS OWNED IN 1950'S BY F. LANGWITHBERRY AND OTHER HEIRS OF THE LANGWITH ESTATE. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT |
