Comments on the geologic information

  • DISTRICT CONTAINS OVER 100 VEINS AND IS ZONED WITH AN INNER ENARGITE ZONE (MOST OF QUIRUVILEA MINE IS IN THIS ZONE) OUTWARD TO A TRANSITION ZONE, MARKED BY DISAPPEARANCE OF ENARGITE AND APPEARANCE OF GALENA TO A LEAD-ZINC ZONE OUTSIDE THE TRANSITION ZONE TO THE OUTERMOST STIBNITE ZONE.

Subject category Comment text
Deposit Discovery Year: COLONIAL PERIOD
Deposit TABULAR. GILDEMEISTER VEIN: WESTERNMOST VEIN IN MINE, TERMINATES AGAINST MOROCOCHA VEIN, IN 1951-52 MOST OF ORE WAS EXTRACTED , ONLY ONE STOPE ACTIVE. AT DEEPER LEVELS THICKNESS INCREASES, CU% DECREASES. VEIN CONSISTS OF ALTERNATING STRINGERS OF PYRITE AND ENARGITE. ELVIRA VEIN: FAULTED SEGMENT OF GILDEMEISTER, UPPER LEVELS WERE RICHEST IN THE MINE. NUMBER 2 VEIN: LIES 30 M NORTH OF ELVIRA VEIN. ENGANDORA VEIN: IT IS A SPLIT OF NUMBER 2 VEIN AT ITS EAST END. TRUJILLANA VEIN: CONSISTS OF A SERIES OF EN ECHELON VEINS, IT IS STRONGLY BANDED. SIN NOMBRE VEIN: PRINCIPAL PRODUCER IN 1951-52, ON ELEDORA LEVEL VEIN BECOMES EN ECHELON AND COMPLETELY SEPARATED AND NAMED SIN NOMBRE, OJOS NEGROS, BOLOGNESI.
