  • AN OPEN CUT 20 FEET X 10, JUST ABOVE THE CREEK ON THE EAST SIDE. A SECOND OPEN CUT WAS 400 FEET SOUTH OF THE LATTER, AND WAS 12 FEET BY 20 FEET, 5 DEEP, WITH FREE SPHALERITE EXPOSED IN THE BOTTOM. ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE CREEK AND ABOUT HALFWAY BETWEEN THE TWO OPEN CUTS A SHAFT WAS STARTED, AND WAS 6 FEET DEEP IN JANUARY, 1892.
