  • AN OPEN CUT 40 FEET LONG, 6-8 FEET WIDE, AND TWELVE FEET DEEP. ABOUT A THIRD OF THIS CUT IS IN CLAY AND ROCK DECAYED IN PLACE. A SECOND OPENING IS 150 FEET NORTHWEST OF THAT JUST MENTIONED, AND IS A STRIPPING FROM 50-60 FEET LONG, UP AND DOWN THE SLOPE AND RISING IN STEPS 10, 7, AND 6 FEET HIGH, MOSTLY IN CLAY AND LOOSE FRAGMENTS OF SILICEOUS ROCK.
