Deposit VEIN/FAULT ZONE OXIDIZED TO 200 FEET BELOW SURFACE. (DIMENSIONS GIVEN ABOVE ARE FOR THE MAIN ORE BODY, WHICH WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY STOPED.
Deposit TRINITY MINE IS MENTIONED IN THE STATE MINERALOGIST'S REPORT AS EARLY AS 1871 AT WHICH TIME THE VEIN HAD BEEN EXPLORED TO A DEPTH OF 30 FEET. IN 1871, A 15-STAMP MILL WAS BUILT AT THE MOUTH OF BUTTE CANYON TO TREAT ORE FROM THE TRINITY AND BUTTE MINES. LATER, SOME TAILINGS WERE SHIPPED, UNDER THE NAME OF JAY EMM MINE. IT WAS REPORTED THAT BY 1912, 14000 TONS OF ORE HAD BEEN MINED & MILLED. FROM 1934 TO 1951 THE MINE PRODUCED 3760 TONS ORE WHICH AVERAGED 0.08 OZ AU/TON; 12.1 OZ/TON AG AND 3.9% PB. WORKINGS CONSIST OF A 700 FT. LONG-ADIT, SEVERAL SHORT ADITS AND PITS AND INCLINES, DRIFTS, STOPES.
