Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = This occurrence is a stratiform, black shale- and chert-hosted, synsedimentary, massive sulfide deposit in Mississippian to Permian strata (J. Britton, oral communication, 1998). Fifteen holes were drilled in the early 1980s. The drilling intercepted a complex, mineralized horizon grading less than 5% Zn and Pb over variable thicknesses, generally less than 20 feet. One mineralized intercept of more than 200 feet contained several intervals grading more than 10% combined lead and zinc. Another intercept graded more than 30% combined lead and zinc.
  • Age = Mississippian to Permian.
