Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = Diamond Gold Corporation reports a discovery of gold-rich arsenopyrite veins that average 0.10 oz/ton gold and 2 oz/ton silver (company press release, 10/14/98). Trenching exposes the one vein in a 400-foot-long zone (width not specified). They indicate the mineralization is related to the 'Hudson Stock', a gabbro body which returned assays of anomalous nickel, chromite and platinum-group-elements (values not released). The ultramafic body, which intrudes Mesozoic marine sedimentary rocks (KJs, Reed and Nelson, 1980), produced extensive hornfels areas with stockwork quartz veinlets (C.C. Hawley, oral communication).
